Known for her roles in such films as Two
Girls and a Guy (with Robert Downey Jr. and Heather Graham), Lost
Highway (directed by David Lynch), and High Fidelity (with John
Cusack and Jack Black), Natasha Gregson Wagner plays a woman whose husband
harbors a disturbing secret in A Kiss and a
Promise, a stylishly filmed psychological thriller that
begins a
limited engagement at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 Theater in West Hollywood,
Calif. on Friday, Sept. 9. We’ll talk about A Kiss and a
Promise, as well as some of Natasha’s other movies, when
she joins us in our first hour.
Our second hour will feature a return appearance by Emmy-winning writer/producer Joseph Dougherty (Pretty Little Liars, thirtysomething, Saving Grace). Among other things, we’ll go behind the scenes of Pretty Little Liars, which recently aired its midseason finale on ABC Family, but will be coming back in October as part of the 13 Days of Halloween.
Joe’s film Cast a Deadly Spell, an homage to Raymond Chandler and H.P. Lovecraft that he wrote for HBO, will receive a special 20th anniversary screening at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in San Pedro, Calif. on Sept. 16 and 17.
Also this week: A look at how television news covered the events of Sept. 11, 2001, as well as 9/11’s impact on prime time television, late night television, and our culture in general.
