First hour: James
Rosin
joins Ed as TV Confidential remembers the life and career of Jack
Klugman. A longtime friend of Klugman, Jim is the author of Quincy: The Television Series and
Naked City: The Television Series,
plus he wrote and acted in several episodes of Quincy (including “A Test for Living,”
which Jim co-wrote with Jack, and which was later recognized by the Southern
California Motion Picture Council for its enlightened treatment of autism). The
hour also includes clips from our interview earlier this season with Anita
Gillette, who appeared with Klugman on Broadway in
Gypsy, then later played Quincy’s wife in the final season of
Quincy. Plus: highlights from Jack Klugman's appearance on TV
Confidential from January 2010, in which he discussed The Odd Couple and his longtime
friendship with Tony Randall.
Second hour: Ed welcomes Golden Globe Award-winning actress Karen Sharpe Kramer, the widow of Stanley Kramer, the legendary motion picture producer and director who was also instrumental in forming the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the people behind the Golden Globe Awards. Karen discusses the legacy of Stanley Kramer, as well as her own career in film and television, which included starring roles in such films and TV series as The High and the Mighty, Man with a Gun, The Disorderly Orderly, Johnny Ringo and I Dream of Jeannie.
