First hour: Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen join Ed for a fond remembrance of actors Dave Madden (Reuben Kinkaid on The Partridge Family) and Russell Johnson (The Professor on Gilligan’s Island), including a look at some of their other contributions to television.
Second hour: Phil Gries joins Ed for a look back at Sunday, February 9, 1964: the night of The Beatles’ first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, and the first official appearance of the group on American television. The hour particularly focuses on how television news covered The Beatles throughout the year 1964, as well as the influence of The Beatles on both American music and American television.
