First hour: Academy Award-nominated conductor and composer David Newman (Anastasia, The Spirit) discusses the music of Oscar-nominated film composer Danny Elfman, as well as his work with the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles. Also in this hour: Bill Funt joins Ed, Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen for a look back at the 25th anniversary of the FOX television network.

Second hour: Actress, author and publisher Kathryn Leigh Scott shares some memories of her longtime friend Jonathan Frid, the actor known to Dark Shadows fans as the reluctant vampire, Barnabas Collins. Frid wrote the foreword to Kathryn's latest book, Dark Shadows: Return to Collingwood. She'll be appearing May 13 at Dark Delicacies in Burbank; May 16 at the Barnes & Noble, The Grove at Farmers Market in Los Angeles, CA; May 22 at the Barnes & Noble, Galleria Shopping Center in Edina, MN; and the annual Dark Shadows Weekend in Tarrytown, NY on July 28-29. Also in this hour: Ed welcomes Patty Farmer, author of The Persian Room Presents, an oral history of one of New York's most elegant night spots, the Persian Room in the landmark Plaza Hotel, where such musical legends as Liberace, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Patti Page, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra performed every night. Patty Farmer will appearing May 9 at the Barnes & Noble, The Grove at Farmers Market in Los Angeles, CA.
