First hour: Ed welcomes Linda Alexander, author of A Maverick Life: The Jack Kelly Story, a comprehensive biography of the actor best known for playing Bart Maverick on the long-running Western series Maverick. Second hour: Ed, Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen welcome Michael St. John, the first African-American man hired as a director for NBC-TV, and the author of Hollywood Through the Back Door, the story of how Michael first came to Hollywood in the early 1950s, at a time when there were still remnants of racial prejudice in the entertainment industry.
