Jim Rosin returns with a look back at the long-running Western series Wagon Train (NBC, 1957-1962; ABC, 1962-1965) starring Ward Bond, Robert Horton, John McIntire, Denny Miller and Robert Fuller. At a time when network TV schedules were filled to the brim with Westerns, Wagon Train left its mark on television in ways that are still felt today, providing viewers with interesting characters every week while serving as one of the inspirations for the original Star Trek. Wagon Train also boasted such top guest stars as Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck and Ernest Borgnine, as well as contributions from Academy Award-winning director John Ford and film icon John Wayne. We’ll talk about that, and a whole lot more, when Jim Rosin joins us in our second hour.

Jim Rosin will be appearing along with Shirley Jones, Sherry Jackson, Ron Ely, Robert Colbert, Jay North, James Darren and other authors and celebrities at the
Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Convention
, August 9-10-11 in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Dan Farren will join Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen in our first hour for a brand new edition of This Week in TV History. Plus: a tribute to William Asher, Elizabeth Montgomery and the long-running comedy series Bewitched.
