First hour: Ed welcomes film and television actor Martin Papazian (24, The Unit). Marty is the writer, director and star of Least Among Saints, a compassionate look at the effects of posttraumatic stress disorder that will open in select theaters on Friday, Oct. 12, with a wide release to follow on Friday, Oct. 19. Also in this hour: Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen remember the birth of Bernie Mac and the premiere of Leave It to Beaver, both of which originally occurred This Week in TV History.
Second hour: Ed welcomes composer, scientist and psychotherapist Elide Beltram, author of The Memory of Vinegar and Oil, a lyrical journey of self that weaves in themes of science and music. Also in this hour: Phil Gries with Part 2 of the Sounds of Lost Television's special tribute to Jack Paar, featuring audio from programs that depict Paar's legendary disputes with Mickey Rooney, Ed Sullivan and Walter Winchell.
