TV CONFIDENTIAL Archives: Dec. 12-18, 2012

Show No. 164
Dec. 12-18, 2012
First hour: Ed welcomes music executive, producer, and former Lynyrd Skynyrd tour manager Ron Eckerman. Ron's book, Turn It Up! Life, Love and Death: Southern Style, captures the personalities of Ronnie Van Zant and the other members of Lynyrd Skynyrd while also chronicling the band's meteoric rise to fame in 1977. If you are a military veteran, or are on active duty, you can get a free copy of the e-Book version of Turn It Up emailed to you through Christmas. For more information, go to TurnItUpBook.com. Also in this hour: Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen remember Tiny Tim's wedding to Miss Vicki, which was nationally televised on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on Dec. 17, 1969.

Second hour: Ed welcomes actor, author and CBS Radio commentator Charles Grodin (Rosemary’s Baby, Catch-22, Midnight Run, The Heartbreak Kid, Seems Like Old Times, Beethoven). Charles recently released The Perils of Show Business: Proceed at Your Own Risk, an instructional DVD that offers hands-on, real world advice about acting schools, the audition process, choosing the right agent, and many other things that one must know when considering a career in show business. All of Charles’ earnings from the sales of The Perils of Show Business will be donated to The Lend a Hand Foundation, a nonprofit organization that Charles started to help people in need who are not covered by any other organization.
