Producer, author and media consultant Phil Cooke will join us as we talk about The Bible, the epic ten-hour miniseries recently produced for The History Channel that not only had a huge impact on television earlier this Spring, but is part of a growing effort on the part of film and TV studios to reach out to evangelical audiences. In fact, Phil says that since there are about 90 million evangelical Christians living in the United States today, it is good business for entertainment and media companies to take that audience seriously.

Phil’s company, Cooke Pictures, helps businesses, churches and nonprofit leaders create platforms that influence the culture and get their voices heard. His latest book, Unique: Telling Your Story in the Age of Brands and Social Media, not only discusses ways in which pastors and leaders can present their own unique vision in a way that rises above the clutter, but offers ideas that are viable for anyone working in broadcast communications today. Phil Cooke will join us in our second hour.

Greg Ehrbar and Jennifer Armstrong will join us in our first hour as we pay tribute to the life and career of singer/actress Annette Funicello. Greg, of course, is the co-author of Mouse Tracks: The Story of Walt Disney Records, while Jennifer is the author of Why? Because We Still Like You: An Oral History of The Mickey Mouse....

Plus: we’ll replay Phil Gries’ interview with Jonathan Winters from 2008 as a part of a special edition of The Sounds of Lost Television that also features highlights from some of Jonathan’s earliest appearances on television, including And Here’s the Show with Ransom Sherman and a guest-host appearance on The Tonight Show with Jack Paar.
