While the parade itself has been a staple of television every Thanksgiving since 1948, most of the early broadcasts have been lost or erased. With that in mind, Phil Gries has put together rare audio highlights of some of the earliest surviving Thanksgiving Day parade coverage as part of a holiday-themed edition of The Sounds of Lost Television.
