Sherry Alberoni was a Mouseketeer during the second season of The Mickey Mouse Club, one of the most iconic television programs ever made, and the original Must See TV for millions of Baby Boomers when the series first aired in 1955. We’ll talk about the legacy of the Mousekeeters, but we’ll also discuss some of Sherry’s other work in film and television, which includes appearances in such films and TV series as The Monkees, Family Affair and The Three Worlds of Gulliver, plus the voices of Alexandra on Josie and the Pussycats and Wendy the Wonder Twin on SuperFriends. Sherry Alberoni will join us in our second hour.

Sherry Alberoni will be appearing at the D-23 expo, Aug. 14-Aug. 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the premiere of The Mickey Mouse Club. For more information, go to D23.com/d23-expo/ She’ll also be at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4. For more information on that event, go to WaltDisney.org/special-programs.

Our first hour will include a return appearance from author Douglas Brode. Doug’s latest book, Sex, Drugs, & Rock 'n' Roll: The Evolution of an American Youth..., takes a close look at the cultural, political, and social revolution that took place in the United States (and, eventually, the world at large) between 1955 and 1970. We’ll talk about the efforts of the music, film and television industries to capitalize on this new and thriving youth market, as well the attempts to romanticize that era in the 1970s through such films and TV series as American Graffiti and Happy Days.

Sex, Drugs, & Rock 'n' Roll is available in bookstores everywhere. You can also order it directly by calling (800) 770-5264.
