Known to fans of daytime television as Liz Chandler, the wealthy heiress she played on Days of Our Lives throughout the 1980s, Gloria Loring has also enjoyed a successful career as a singer, songwriter, and author, including “Friends and Lovers,” her duet with Carl Anderson that became a No. 1 record in 1986, and co-writing the lyrics to the theme songs for the classic TV series Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life (the latter of which she also sang, from the second season on). Plus she has written six books and released several CDs.

Gloria has a new CD out (A Playlist), plus another in the works. We’ll talk about that, as well as some of her other work in music and television, when she joins us in our second hour.

Also this week: We’ll remember the life and career of Gene Wilder as part of This Week in TV History. Plus: A new DVD report.
