Phil Gries will join us for an expanded edition of The Sounds of Lost Television that will pay tribute to Kirk Douglas, the legendary motion picture star who turned 100 years old last week. Though mostly known for his work on the big screen, Douglas was no stranger to television. Besides appearing frequently on late night talk shows and network variety specials, he starred in several notable made-for-TV movies late in his career, including Mousey (1974) and Amos (1985).
Phil has put together a special collection of rarely heard audio clips that showcases not only Douglas’ acting prowess, but his humanitarianism, his desire to seek social justice, his sense of humor and his love of singing. We hope you’ll join us for this special edition of the program.
