Herbie J Pilato has written several books on television, including The Bionic Book Reconstructed, everything you wanted to know about The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, and Glamour, Gidgets and The Girl Next Door, which celebrates the accomplishments of more than four dozen TV actresses who shattered expectations, one way or another.

In addition, he is the leading authority on the legacy of Bewitched and the author of two books on the life of its star, Elizabeth Montgomery, including Twitch Upon a Star and The Essential Elizabeth Montgomery: A Guide to Her Magical Performa.... Herbie J Pilato will join us during our first hour.

Herbie J Pilato is also the host of Throwback Thursdays, a live panel discussion featuring icons from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s that takes place every Thursday night at the Barnes and Noble in Burbank, CA. Throwback Thursdays is a joint presentation of Barnes and Noble and The Classic TV Preservation Society, a nonprofit organization that, among other things, seeks to close the gap between popular culture and education.

And speaking of the 1980s, we’ll go back in time in our second hour as we welcome Caseen Gaines, the award-winning author of Inside Pee Wee’s Playhouse: The Untold, Unauthorized and Unpredicta... and A Christmas Story: Behind the Scenes of a Holiday Classic. 

Caseen’s latest book, We Don’t Need Roads: The Making of the Back to the Future Trilogy, tells you everything you wanted to know about the classic motion picture franchise that is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in 2015. Caseen’s book not only includes material from more than 500 hours of original interviews with more than fifty cast and crew members (including Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Huey Lewis), but includes balanced accounts of some of the more controversial moments in the history of Back to the Future, including why Michael J. Fox replaced the movie’s star, Eric Stolz, and why Crispin Glover did not return after the first movie.



Also this week: Phil Gries will join us for Part 3 of our look at the early broadcast career of Vin Scully, the legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Vin Scully announced last week that 2016 will likely be his final year behind the microphone.
