Singer, actor and director Don Most returns this week as part of our annual holiday program. Known around the world as Ralph Malph on Happy Days, Don is also an accomplished musical performer who continues to bring his live musical show celebrating his love of big band and swing music to different venues all over the country (including Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Catalina’s Bar and Grill in Hollywood, CA).
Don’s new single, “C’est Si Bon,” is not only available as a digital single now through iTunes, but is part of Don's new Christmas album, Swinging Down the Chimney Tonight, which includes a heartfelt rendition of “The Christmas Song,” the Yuletide classic that Mel Torme essentially wrote for Nat King Cole. We’ll talk about Don’s love for the music of Torme and Cole, his upcoming CD, D Most: Mostly Swinging, and more, during our first hour.
This week’s show will also include an encore presentation of our roundtable discussion featuring Joanna Wilson about our favorite Christmas episodes and holiday TV specials. Joanna is the author of The Christmas TV Companion and Tis the Season TV. Then Phil Gries will join us in our second hour for our annual tribute to bandleader Guy Lombardo, with audio highlights from some of the first TV coverage of the ball drop at Times Square… including a rarely heard clip from New Year’s Eve 1965 featuring Howard Cosell.
