One of
the first women to establish herself as a writer/producer in the 1970s — at a
time when the television industry was still predominantly male-driven — Juanita
Bartlett got her first big break in 1971 while working with Frank Pierson on
Nichols, the offbeat Western series that also began Juanita’s longtime
collaboration with actor James Garner. Juanita not only went on to become of one
of the driving forces behind Garner’s long-running TV series
The Rockford Files, but wrote and produced such popular shows
as The Greatest American Hero, Scarecrow and
Mrs. King and Spenser: For Hire. Juanita Bartlett will
share some of her memories in television when she joins us in our second hour.
Joining us in our first hour will be Stephen Cox.
Steve has written more than twenty books on such popular shows as The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, I Dream of Jeannie, The Addams Family and
The Munsters. We’ll compare and contrast
The Munsters with The Addams Family, as well as discuss Steve’s
biography of Larry Fine, One Fine Stooge.
Plus: Part 2 of our conversation with Academy
Award-nominated composer David
Newman (Anastasia), and a brand new This Week in TV History.
