TV CONFIDENTIAL Archives: Aug. 1-7, 2012

Show No. 147
Aug. 1-7, 2012

First hour: Ed welcomes actor and author Lawrence Montaigne, best known for his roles as Decius and Stonn in the original Star Trek. Lawrence's other film appearances include The Great Escape with Steve McQueen and James Garner, as well as episodes of such classic TV series as The Fugitive, The Rogues, Burke’s Law, Batman, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Dallas. Lawrence writes about his life in and of the entertainment industry (including how he came to re-create the role of Stonn in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men) in his autobiography, A Vulcan Odyssey; he has also recently published a novel, The Guardian List.

Second hour: An encore presentation of our January 2012 conversation with actor, writer and director Walter Koenig (Star Trek, Babylon 5). Walter will be receiving a star next month on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making him the last of the seven cast members of the original Star Trek to be so honored. He will also be appearing, along with Lawrence Montaigne, William Shatner, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and other Star Trek actors, at the official Star Trek convention, August 9-12 at the Rio Suites Hotel in Las Vegas. Also in this hour: Dan Farren joins Tony Figueroa and Donna Allen for a look back at Jack Paar's tenure as host of The Tonight Show.
