Your Mental Sorbet: Norman Lear hosting Saturday Night Live

Here is another "Mental Sorbet" that we could use to momentarily forget about those things that leave a bad taste in our mouths.

Norman Lear was born on July 27, 1922 in New Haven, Connecticut. He wrote and produced the 1970s sitcoms as All in the Family, Sanford and Son, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, Good Times and Maude. As a political activist, he founded the civil liberties advocacy organization People For the American Way in 1981 and has supported First Amendment rights and liberal causes.

On September 25th, 1976 Norman Lear hosted Saturday Night Live and presented a video documentary that reveals how the actors on his sitcoms really feel about him featuring Jean Stapleton, Carroll O'Connor, Richard Crenna, Bernadette Peters, Nancy Walker, Sherman Hemsley, Isabel Sanford and Bea Arthur.
